Jane Morris

I like this picture. I've had it saved on my computer for a long time.
(I know, I know... Still procrastinating).

Help!!!

I chose Elvis' name. For a long time I have had a fascination with this hick white town kid who became the biggest star in the world, bought into the dream, got fat, and died. I love Elvis, not just for who he is, but what he wa, what he became, what he loved, and yes, for what he ate.

It seemed only fair to name my first boy after The King.

Maeve's name was chosen by Ellen. Ellen is part Irish, and was living in Chicago at the time she adopted the girl as a stray. She was named Maeve because it reminded her of home, and she looked like a Maeve to Ellen.

She was dreaming one day, and when she woke up she told me that his name was Xander. And that is the name of our son. She dreamed it.

Wow. You and I have very similar views about Elvis. I would have been loved to be named from a dream. The power to make the intangible suddenly present...
